New Timber Frame Barn

Project Details

The owners of this home in Weston were looking for an outbuilding that would provide them with ample space for exercise and recreation. They asked us to build a brand new timber frame barn that would contain a sports court and hall for recreational activities. An important consideration was that the structure fit in with the historic nature of their property.

The exterior of the building was based on the “barn” vocabulary found throughout the area. The building fits perfectly with the site. Inside, the main space consists of the sports court and loft viewing area. The “porch” section contains a rich and inviting hall. Folding glass walls on two sides allow this room to be almost completely open to the outside.
